What led to him being dismissed from the team? Is there another school that is going to pick him up or is he done?

Don't believe it was discipline related; heard he had back problems.

I chatted with a few of tOSU coaches, and they did not say what, but it sounded like he was dismissed. I thought it was MRSA, but that was not the case.

It wasn't because of back problems, and it wasn't for discipline. It is personal.

If it was personal, was it that he was just sick of wrestling? If so, that answers my second question of whether we would see him wrestle for another school.

I heard his back had discipline problems of a personal nature.

Talked with him a couple weeks ago and asked if he would be back wrestling (I didn't ask if it would be for tOSU) and he said it depends on his back.

He was granted a medical hardship, so he can finish school free at ohio st. He just can't wrestle anywhere collegiality. Same deal for Jameson.

I've always wondered about that explanation as a medical hardship is normally a means of obtaining another year to compete due to an unjury. However, Palmer and Jameson are reported to have left the team, will apparently remain on scholarship until they graduate, and presumably will not wrestle again collegiately.

In short, it sounds more like a career ending injury as opposed to the normal "medical hardship" situation, and the explanation provided makes one wonder of there is actually more to the story.

"The news wasn’t so good for Collin Palmer and Tony Jameson, who were expected to start the season at 141 and 165 pounds. While each showed a lot of potential when healthy, both battled a variety of injuries throughout their time in Columbus. Unfortunately neither was able to remain healthy this year, both have left the team, and each will accept a medical hardship waiver to finish school at Ohio State."

Does the hardship waiver count against tOSU's scholarship total? I would assume it would not as scholarships are given one year at a time.

he's still on the roster. Hopefully his back isn't too bad, that would suck if he can't compete anymore.
